Visit from students from the graduating class of HNEU
Apr 22 2008
On Tuesday, April 22nd, HIS Elementary
Department was happy to host Ms. Liao and 40 students
from the graduating class of Hsinchu National
Education University. Arriving at 8.30am, these young
student teachers found it difficult to stop taking
photos of the outside of the school!
In groups of 5, they spent the first hour in each classroom, then met for refreshments and a talk about HIS and about our educational approach, philosophy, and methods. We had a very interesting time touring the school with the students asking very appropriate questions and offering a great variety of observations. A photo-shoot on the roof in front of the clock tower was a great hit before we continued our tour. The Secondary Department Science Technology hands-on class intrigued them and they were very interested in the linked computer use.
Back downstairs the school building provided the backdrop for another photo-shoot before it was time to say goodbye to our guests. They loved our campus and the student-teacher interaction, and for our part we thoroughly enjoyed meeting these friendly, intelligent young people who will be educating children themselves this time next year. As a footnote, students and teachers alike enjoyed the delicious rice-cake goodies which they kindly brought as gifts for everyone. Today was a very special snack day!
