From the initial stages of scouting for the ideal
location, right through to the final construction
of our new building, we have made the greatest
efforts to develop the best possible campus to
provide a fabulous learning and playing environment
for our children and teachers. The new school is
conveniently situated only 1.3km from our previous
site, on Niu Pu E. Rd., next to the Hsiangshan
Municipal School. The new building is 100%
purpose-built and the various rooms, features and
areas have been designed in a way that will benefit
the children and teachers most.
Almost every day throughout the summer, visitors posed the question, Will it be ready on time? The reply was there for all to see on September 3rd, 2007 and the joy and excitement were palpable.
From the initial impact of the lovely neo-classical spacious building, the lotus blossoms in vibrant colour among the variety of indigenous Taiwan trees, the bamboo grove shading the amphitheatre area, the splendid airy foyer, to the interior classrooms, specialist rooms, and the fun play areas, everything was greeted with delight and appreciation. Many parents commented on the calm, serene atmosphere which still retained a stimulating environment of excitement and creativity.
The older students enjoyed the space to stretch their legs and hang out with their friends in lovely surroundings; the younger students were more vocal with the whoops and squeals of delight as they sampled the pleasures of the splendid new play areas. As for the staff, we all experienced the great pleasure of being in the lovely surroundings, and enjoyed our students’ response to their new school. We loved having space to have school assemblies, to eat lunch together… so much was new and special, but we certainly brought the spirit and heart of HIS with us.
